Winter Morning Routine | Get Ready With Me

Hey loves,

So I'm going to give you my morning routine for the winter months.. This will also have my skincare routine in it as well, kinda like killing two birds with one stone.

When my alarms goes off the first thing I do is pray I can still sleep more, but after Hope is lost I check my phone to see who tried to talk to me over night and I check my Instagram, Twitter and facebook. After that I begin my day.

I always try to have breakfast in the morning, if I don't have time then I make a smoothie like breakfast drink and that usually tides me over until I have lunch.

After I have breakfast I wash my face and brush my teeth, all that fun stuff. I use The Body Shop Tea Tree Cleanser for face wash, Clean and Clear Deep Cleaning Astrigent for my toner, and Amorepacific Moisture Bond Refreshing Hydra-gel for my facial moisturizer and the Origins GinZing Refreshing Eyecream for under my eyes.

Once I'm done my skincare routine its time to put my makeup on, I usually change up what I wear on my face but a big staple for me is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette and the Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation, they smell like chocolate who wouldn't enjoy that!

The last thing I do for getting ready is get dressed. Since winter has started I've been loving big knit scarves, and basically anything that is knitted because I love being comfy. I'll either wear jeans and a basic t shirt with a big scarf, or leggings with a knit sweater and then a basic scarf that isn't knit. With every outfit I will usually wear a scarf for the next 6 months. Winter in Canada is fun!

And the very last thing I do before I leave my house is pack my lunch for work. Most of the time it's just leftovers from whatever I made for dinner the night before. So my lunch tomorrow will be chicken tacos, they are so tastey.

And then I'm off to work for the day!

Empties | Review

Hey loves,

So this is my first empties post and I've got a pretty decent amount of trash to get through, so let's just get into it!

Like I said I've got a pretty decent amount of trash :)

First of all I have the Clean & Clear Night Relaxing All In One Cleansing Wipes. I used these the nights when I was just too tired to actually take off my makeup. They are fantastic though, they actually take off all my makeup even waterproof mascara and eyeliner. I think these are the first makeup wipes that have actually removed most of my makeup from the day. Wooo! So they get a solid 10/10 in my book, and a even better thing is that they didn't irritate my sensitive skin!

Next I have Benefit They're Real mascara, this is by far my holy grail mascara. I use this ontop of any other mascara I use and on days when I am doing a more natural look, I use it on its own. This mascara gives the best separation I have found and makes my lashes so long. This I will always repurchase.

Next up is the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I did like this product but since my skin has been getting more oily, it wasn't working quite as well as it did when I originally bought it. I do love the Urban Decay setting sprays but because I need one for oil control I got the Urban Decay De-slick setting spray for oil control this time and I find it is working like a charm thus far. I think Urban Decay will always be a staple for setting sprays in my makeup bag.

The Mac Fix+ is always going to be a staple product for me, I use this to basically meld all my products together before using a setting spray. I find it helps me get just a few more hours of wear out of my makeup. I also keep one of these travel size ones in my purse incase my makeup gets cakey throughout the day, because spraying it on always gives a freshly applied look to my makeup. I will repurchase this again and again until the end of time!

To continue on the Mac train I have the Mac Studio Fix Powder Foundation in the shade NC 25, I love this to set my foundation and i find it gives me that little extra bit of coverage as well because I get a lot of cystic acne, and usually a full coverage foundation feels quite heavy and thick on my face. So I use this on top of a medium coverage foundation, and it gives me full coverage without feeling too thick! I always keep a second one of these on hand because I just can't go without it !

So this was a Mac blush. The colour on the back has worn off but I believe it was Peony Petal which is a brighter pink shade, but when it is applied it gives a very nice pink glow to the cheekbones, without looking to "clownesque" (is that even a word? Lol) I find some pinks have a little too much pigment for my skin tone but this one applied super nicely!

And now for some hair product, Chi Iron guard. I do like this thermal protectant, it also smells like man so that's a plus :) the only thing is I like aerosole thermal sprays better because you don't need to wait for them to dry if you don't want to hear the sound of your hair sizzling even though it's protected. I do like this spray but I probably won't buy it again because I would rather use a aerosole one.

Artego Miracle Lightweight Conditioner, this leave in is pure genius. It's more of a lotion consistency but it doesn't leave your hair heavy. I actually could spray half the bottle on my hair without it being weighed down. I also have super bleached white hair so combing through it when it is wet is a difficult task. The fact this leave in lets me comb my hair wet is beautiful and I will continue to use this until they don't make it anymore !

Redken Pillow Proof dry shampoo, this is a great dryshampoo without a super strong smell which I find most of them have. And it actually absorbs most of the oil in the hair without weighing it down. I find some dry shampoos are so heavy because of how much powder they put in to absorb the oil but this one is not like that at all! I sometines even use it before bed just so that when I wake up my hair looks fresh and it has had lots of time to work. I will always reccomend this to everyone!

Last but not least, Klorane dry shampoo. I got this in the travel size in my Ipsy bag and it is fantastic. I kept this little beauty in my purse just incase I ever needed a touchup throughout the day, it's not my favorite dry shampoo but for a little travel size, it did the job pretty well and I always kept it around incase I ran out of my Redken Pillow Proof. It's a good second option and I believe it is a little cheaper than the Redken one as well.

Anyways loves, sorry for the super long empties post. Hopefully next time I won't hoard my trash for as long!

Stay pretty girls!

November Spending Ban | Update

Hey loves,

So I have decided that the month of November, I am not going to buy anything that is not a necessity. As were all aware we are coming into Christmas season and I'm gonna be spending a lot of money then, so at this point why don't I just save some? The only money I have spent on products this month was at the Sephora VIB Rouge sale, which I could not say no too because when is anything at Sephora EVER on sale... There will also be a haul on what I bought in my next post :)

I think this spending ban is a good idea for a number of reasons.. It will give me a chance to begin to use up products that have just been sitting in my collection - because those are usually things that become lost soles haha, its also going to put me in a better place financially with bills, rent and the beginning of Christmas shopping. Who knows maybe this month will give me some self control when it comes to how I spend my money (haha we all know that won't happen, but I can hope)

I will still be putting posts up because I do have my haul from Sephora to post, as well as there should be a empties post coming soon too, and we all know everyone loves empties posts.. product reviews are the bomb.

Anyways stay pretty ladies,

xo

October | Favorites

I Hey loves,

So I decided to put my up October Favorites post today, because we all know tomorrow is Halloween and between work and all that jazz it's just not gonna happen :) so anyways here are all the products I have been loving for the month of October

My first favorite of the month is the Glamglow mask. I've heard so many bloggers rave about how good this is, so I thought I would get the sample size and try it out. Holy they were right, you can actually see this mask pulling gunk out of your pores, and it has actually managed to make my skin less oily, so that's a plus too. Even though the full size of this mask is about 70$ I think I am going to have to get it because it's already made such a difference in my skin.

So I just recently got the Nyx shine killer, since my skin has recently gotten brutal again I've been looking for any products which will keep my skin matte all day and this does w pretty good job. I wear this under foundation usually but if I'm not working I will just wear it on its own to keep my skin matte while I am running errands. I have yet to not like a Nyx product and with how well this primer works this line just keeps impressing me more and more.

The Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer is by far my favorite shadow primer ever!! It never creases which is awesome and as bad as this is I have woken up and still had my eyeshadow on, I cannot think of another eyeshadow primer that keeps your shadow on over night. It also has a very neutral colour to it so wearing it without shadow works as well because it covers any veins or redness on my eyelids. I would reccomend anyone to try this shadow primer out. It is just beautiful.

Because who doesn't like any of the naked pallets. I have just recently fallen in love with this pallete again, and the bronze/godly neutral colours are beautiful. I find urban decay does the most pigmented beautiful shadows ever and I have yet to find one that compares to the blend-ability of these shadows. I can not get over how much I have fallen in love with all the urban decay naked pallets

My last one is not makeup or skin related but this joico dry shampoo is quite nice, when you first spray it on its kind of wet but once it drys it works like a charm. And  guess what, it smells amazeballs

Alright ladies, I hope you liked the products I picked for October, and everyone have a fun and safe Halloween

October Ipsy Glam Bag | Review

Hello Loves,

So I got my October Ipsy Glam Bag about a week ago and I thought I would share it with you! So far I have been quite impressed with my Ipsy Glam Bags and I don't think there has been a product in them that I have no really cared for, I have basically loved everything. Thanks Ipsy! But without further a due,

Excuse the garbage lighting but in this bag I got products from Jessie's Girl, Skyn Iceland, Figs & Rouge, I Envy - Kiss, and City Colour.

The first picture is the City Colour Be Matte Lipstick in shade M7 Cappuccino, this lipstick is quite pigmented, and applies pretty smooth which is nice but its quite drying. Also for a nude with a quite strong browny undertone it actually isn't too bad on my fair skin, so I quite like this product. Im not sure if I would buy it on my own because I'm not a big fan of matte lipsticks because I do find them drying without a gloss over top but I'll probably continue to use this anyways because I don't mind the colour at all :)

This is the Jessie's Girl Mineralized Baked Powder in Plum Frost, the top swatch is the shadow used with a dry brush and the bottom swatch is with a damp brush to see the pigment differences. I quite like this shadow when used with a damp brush because it has so much pigment and it is quite shimmery which I like a lot for my lid colour. The reason I don't use this shadow dry is because it doesn't have enough pigment to get the looks I like which are more dramatic lid colours, but using it wet works perfectly. Im actually growing really fond of the Jessie's Girl line!

I have used these lashes once so far, and I have to say I love them! I can barely notice when I wear them because they are so light, and because I don't wear lashes often anymore whenever I wear them I tend to notice for the first few hours because my eyelids do feel heavier, but with these lashes I didn't even know I was wearing them! Once I find out where to buy this brand I will for sure have to get more different styles of them!

This hand cream by Figs & Rouge is hands down my favourite hand cream right now (see what I did there?) The scent is rose berry which is very light and clean smelling. The fact that it isn't very strongly scented is good for me because my skin is so sensitive that any strongly scented products give me a rash (ew!) so I've gotta stay away from them. This lotion isn't greasy at all and it seems to absorb into the hands almost instantly, which I love. It is also very moisturizing which is great for me because as a hairstylist my hands are in water all day every day which leads to very dry skin and this tends to help a lot. Figs & Rouge, you make beautiful products!

Last but not least Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Clothes, these wipes literally take off all your makeup, I tend to use them after work because by the end of the day all I want to do is take my makeup off before I go home to wash my face (granted this is only if I don't have plans haha) but i find these wipes do a great job of removing makeup and oil from my face so i feel much fresher and awake leaving work and when I get home I don't have to worry about removing my makeup before I wash my face because its already done for me! These are basically like washing your full face without the use of water, its fantastic.

Well loves, as you can see I was quite fond of my Ipsy Glambag this month! I should have another haul/review up for you soon, so stay keep posted!

Let Me Introduce Myself!

Hello lovelys,

So I thought considering this is my first beauty blog, I should probably introduce myself; my name is Christina and I'm from Calgary, Canada.

I am a hairstylist currently and hoping to go to Blanche Macdonald for makeup next summer but right now I enjoy playing around with makeup and trying new products and all that jazz. The fashion and beauty industry has always been so interesting to me and starting out with hair dressing has made me realize all the places this industry can go!

I'm exciting to tell all of you about products that I've tried out, hauls, fashion posts and basically everything. I've been reading so many blogs and watching so many people on youtube religiously at night that I decided maybe its time to try this whole beauty blogging thing out for myself!
